Senior Leadership Team

Mr K began his teaching career as a Key Stage 2 teacher in Calderdale and brings a wealth of experience from teaching across all primary age ranges. Prior to joining Bolton Brow, he held the role of Advanced Skills Teacher, supporting high-quality teaching and learning.
Mr K joined Bolton Brow Junior, Infant and Nursery School as Deputy Headteacher in 2009 and was appointed Headteacher of Bolton Brow Primary Academy in 2021. He provides strong leadership and a clear vision for the school, ensuring that every child receives an excellent education and achieves their full potential.
Alongside his leadership role, Mr K remains passionate about teaching and has worked in Years 5 and 6, as well as across all year groups during his time at Bolton Brow.
He has also supported other schools as a Specialist Leader of Education, working with Teamworks Teaching School to improve outcomes for pupils across Calderdale and Oldham.

Miss Wardle is the Deputy Head Teacher and plays a key role in supporting the Head Teacher with the leadership and management of the school. She began her teaching career as a Key Stage 1 teacher in Calderdale and has since gained extensive experience across the Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
Prior to joining Bolton Brow Academy, Miss Wardle held the positions of Lead Teacher and Advanced Skills Teacher at her previous school. She then took on the role of Foundation Stage Leader at Bolton Brow and, since then, has also become the school’s SENCO.
In addition to her school-based responsibilities, Miss Wardle has undertaken a range of wider professional roles. These include working as an Early Years moderator for the Local Authority and serving as a Specialist Leader of Education, supporting other schools through Teamworks Teaching School.

Claire is our Curriculum Lead and a dedicated member of the teaching team at Bolton Brow. Working closely with the headteacher and subject leaders, she ensures that our curriculum meets the needs of all our children, is engaging, and offers a wide range of rich opportunities. Claire is committed to continually developing our curriculum, drawing on the latest educational research so that pupils can realise their full potential and become confident, articulate lifelong learners. With over twenty years of teaching experience across KS1 and KS2, Claire currently teaches in Year 6 and is incredibly proud to be part of the Bolton Brow community.
