School History

Bolton Brow School was built at the end of the 19th Century and for most of its life was a combined Boys Secondary School and an Infant School.

Following major renovation in 1963 the school opened as a primary school. The Nursery was added in 1975 and recently we have taken possession of a brand new purpose built Nursery. This is the only one of its kind, at present, in Calderdale and provides a wonderful learning environment for the children.

Like many Victorian buildings we have suffered from ravages of time. We have to be vigilant with the building and maintain a programme of refurbishment through our School Improvement Plan. Calderdale LEA recently showed their commitment to our school by spending a huge amount on eradicating dry rot.
